World Rabies Day
Every year on September 28, the world unites in the fight against rabies. World Rabies Day is a day of activism and awareness. It is an opportunity to join the global movement to put an end to suffering rabies causes by organizing or taking part in a World Rabies Day event.
Rabies is a viral disease that attacks the central nervous system of mammals, including humans. Once clinical signs appear, rabies is almost always fatal in animals and people. In Canada, the animals most often transmit rabies are bats, skunks, and foxes.
